Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
